Govolunteer.ca is a place to connect with volunteer-based resources in British Columbia. The resource was launched in 2003 and over 1.8 million individuals who have contributed their time and talents used Govolunteer.ca to connect with not-for-profits and charities across BC.

Vantage Point is the not-for-profit that proudly manages Govolunteer.ca. We were founded in 1943 as the Central Volunteer Bureau of Vancouver to provide volunteer matching services throughout the city, and eventually came to be known as “Volunteer Vancouver.” We are proud of our contribution to the amazing impact and reach volunteerism has in our community.

In 2010, Volunteer Vancouver rebranded to become Vantage Point and we shifted our focus to supporting the capacity and professional development of not-for-profit leaders. Vantage Point grew out of the changing expectations we saw developing in the not-for-profit sector, with a greater focus placed on elevating leadership skills and building organizational capacity. We now support not-for-profit organizations to excel in governance, leadership, planning, and human resources. Vantage Point provides a range of learning opportunities and training to support not-for-profit leaders and organizations to do their best work. Every year, we work with over 10,000 individuals from more than 1400 organizations delivering interactive learning that they can apply immediately in their organizations.

We have loved running Govolunteer.ca to connect our member organizations with volunteers across BC. We are also thrilled to announce our partnership with Volunteer Connector, a Canadian-wide volunteer posting platform, as of April 15, 2021. This will allow us to continue providing an excellent resource for volunteers and organizations alike, while ensuring user-friendliness and accessibility.
