Is it free to post volunteer opportunities?

In order to post on govolunteer.ca, your organization must be a govolunteer.ca subscriber. For subscription information, please contact Vantage Point (Vancouver), Community Volunteer Connections (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody) or Volunteer Burnaby. If your organization or resource centre is located outside Metro Vancouver, email us at

Who is eligible to post?

Registered not-for-profits, charities, trade unions, professional associations and government organizations are all eligible to post.

Do you provide a list of available volunteers?

No. govolunteer.ca does not provide a database of volunteers.

Can individuals use the site to recruit volunteers?

No. Individuals are not eligible to post positions on govolunteer.ca.

Can businesses or for-profit organizations post volunteer positions?

In most cases, no. govolunteer.ca only allows not-for-profit organizations to post volunteer roles. However, If your business is planning a special event or project that benefits a not-for-profit organization, please contact us at to discuss your eligibility.
