Description: |
In this position the volunteer animal/handler team will provide therapeutic enhancement to programs and services offered to our clients. Animal-Assisted Therapies are adjuncts that focus on helping children and adolescents through interactions with a skilled animal, a person who is skilled in human - animal interactions and a professional mental health practioner. |  |

Skills and Experience: |
The animal/handler team must have the appropriate skills and aptitudes as determined by screening guidelines set by the Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta and /or the Chimo Project. Proof of certification will be required.
The animal must be in good health, well groomed and free of parasites.
The animal/handler team must have the desire, flexibility and patience to work with these high needs children and teens. |

Training Provided: |
Certification required through the Chimo Project, the Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta or the Delta Society
Orientation to CASA provided by CASA staff. |
