Description: |
The volunteer provides encouragement and support to a child/teen by participating in a wide range of community based activities while building a caring relationship with that child or teen. CASA provides treatment for children who are experiencing severe emotional, psychological and behavioural problems. Must be comfortable communicating with parents to confirm schedules etc. |  |

Skills and Experience: |
The time and desire to make this regular commitment for one year.
The interest, flexibility and patience to work with these high needs children.
The maturity and emotional stability to be a positive role model.
The skills necessary to assist the child with a variety of learning activites(ie homework,sports,crafts etc)

Training Provided: |
Mentoring training and information provided by Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Training and orientation provided by CASA staff. |
