Position: Civic Liaison Coordinator

Mission Statement: Preserving the Past for the Future

Description: This position develops and maintains ongoing strategic relationships primarily with the municipal government (which owns Roedde House and its collection) secondarily with other parallel municipal institutions and also with other historical associations. Additionally, the Civic Liaison Coordinator will lead the Board in the development and the implementation of a Conservation Plan for the interior and exterior of the museum.

Responsibilities:
• Recruit and lead the negotiating team in the presentation and negotiation of the Management Contract with the Municipal Government
• Research grant and funding opportunities for maintenance of the interior and exterior of Roedde House Museum
• Research, plan and coordinate the development and implementation of a Conservation Plan
• Recruit and organize a team to assist with the development of the Conservation Plan
• Advise the Board of Roedde House Museum on above negotiations; orally and in writing
• Acting as the Museum’s primary link with municipally owned and similarly situated institutions such as museums, and also strategic allies
• Report to the Board of Roedde House Museum (orally and in writing) on the status of the Conservation Plan; ensuring questions are addressed and feedback is discussed and implemented

Volunteers Required: 1
Skills and Experience: • Training and or experience in business or public administration with a knowledge of and a proven ability to work collaboratively government, community, historical associations and high profile individuals
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to successful completion
• Positive leadership skills with the ability to develop and maintain working committees
• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and conflict management skills and the sensitivity and confidence to deal with a variety of personalities
• Experience with the maintenance of other structures similar to Roedde House
