Position Details
Position: Treasurer
Organization: Burns Bog Conservation SocietyOpen site in new window
Mission Statement: This society educates the public about Burns Bog and lobbies for its preservation.

This is a Board Position
Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the bookkeeper's work and ensuring that GAAP are implemented. S/he will attend board meetings and report to the board. S/he will prepare the financial statements for the Annual General Meeting and the CRA reports for a registered charity.

The successful candidate must be a member in good standing before taking the position. S/he is welcome to attend all board meetings prior to familiarize her/himself with the Board the Society's activities. A Director's manual is also given to each board member.
Volunteers Required: One
Skills and Experience: Accounting; Finance
Must be a CGA, CA or the equivalent. No experience necessary but appreciated.

Requirements: Requires criminal records check
Reimbursements: Coffee / Tea
Training Provided: Our current Treasurer will provide on sight training and be available for any questions and advice needed.

This position is open to anyone who can attend regular meetings and attend to duties on Saturdays, such as reviewing and approving invoices

Monthly meetings take place on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Our current Treasurer would like to step back and be a regular board member but he is more than willing to help the incoming treasurer.
